Too low they build, who build beneath the stars

What “What we wanted to be” is about:

Have you thought about your passions? What you’re really, truly passionate about in life? And no, I don’t mean how you’re passionate about pizza, or about Breaking Bad, or some person. I’m talking about those serious lifelong passions, those things in your life that you have been desiring and thinking deeply about since you were a kid or a young adult.

Maybe you already have pursued, and achieved, what you are passionate about. You may be doing what you are passionate about right now in your occupation. If that is you, I give you a deep bow! You are what this book is really about.

The unfortunate thing is that too many people either know what their passions are, and they can point to them sitting up on that dusty shelf, or life has just overtaken them so much that they can’t even remember what their passions are or if they ever had any. It is for these individuals that I write the following Life Tips.

“A good day ain’t got no rain. A bad day is when I lie in bed and think of things that might have been.” ~ Unknown song lyric

“A man who becomes conscious of the responsibility he bears toward a human being who affectionately waits for him, or to an unfinished work, will never be able to throw away his life. He knows the why for his existence, and will be able to bear almost any how.” ~ Viktor Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
