Dharma Diet – Post #4
Even before I started my Dharma Diet, I had begun paying more and more attention to what I consume, both food and drink. In recent years I discovered a plethora of documentaries about dieting, weight loss, and the food industry available on YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Redbox, and others.
By far the most impactful films that I found were these:
- What the Health (2017)
- Food, Inc. (2008)
- Fed Up (2014)
I strongly urge you to watch all three, and then find a few more of your own to view. In viewing these documentaries and doing other forms of research, it has been made clear to me that the food industry is not at all looking out for their customers’ well being. They are in the business to make money. They have become so good at it, not just through tasty products, but by using ways to get us hooked on their products.
I will write more about this in my little book, still targeted for the New Year, but I wanted to put this information out there in case you weren’t aware. Educating yourself is one of the keys to the Dharma Diet. And educating yourself to the lies coming from the food industry is a critical factor.
